Interzone 954 Finish
A two-component, low VOC, high-solids modified epoxy barrier coat designed to provide long-term protection in a single-coat application. It cures even under immersed conditions, making it highly effective in splash zone and tidal environments. The coating also offers excellent cathodic disbondment resistance and can be applied to reoxidised and slightly damp surfaces.
Description
Type:
Two-Pack Modified Epoxy Barrier Coat
Volume:
20 Ltrs (Base 16 Ltrs + Hardener 4 Ltrs, mixed 4:1 by volume)
Category:
High-Build Barrier Epoxy / Splash Zone Coating
Usage:
Interzone 954 is specially developed for offshore splash zone maintenance, where tidal movements and immersion are common. It is also widely used in chemical plants, pulp and paper industries, railcars, jetties, sluice gates, and marine structures. With volume solids of 85% ± 3%, it achieves a dry film thickness of 250–500 µm per coat (equivalent to 294–588 µm WFT), with a spreading rate of 1.7 m²/litre at 500 µm DFT. The coating dries to touch in 3.5 hours at 25°C, hard dries in 5.5 hours, and achieves full cure in 7 days. It continues to cure under water, ensuring reliable performance even under submerged service. Pot life is approx. 45–120 minutes depending on temperature. It can be applied by airless spray, air spray, brush, or roller.
Applications:
Recommended for offshore and marine structures, jetties, railcars, sluice gates, buried steelwork, and other severe service areas exposed to tidal and splash zones. It is also used as part of non-slip deck systems when combined with aggregate. The product is compatible with sacrificial and impressed current cathodic protection systems.
