Usage:
Lustrotherm HT 400 is specially designed for chimneys, flare stacks, exhaust systems, pipework, incinerators, and similar steel structures subjected to high heat. It offers good resistance to solvents and salt water, with fair resistance to acids and alkalis. Recommended dry film thickness is 15 µm per coat (100 µm WFT), giving a spreading rate of 10 m²/litre. The coating dries dust-free in 4 hours, with first coat air-dried for 24 hours or optionally heat-cured at 200°C for 1 hour. The second coat should dry overnight before gradually raising to service temperature. It resists continuous heat exposure up to 400°C. Overcoating interval is minimum 18 hours, with indefinite maximum under clean, dry conditions. Shelf life is 12 months in sealed containers stored under standard conditions.
Applications:
Recommended for chimneys, flare stacks, exhaust ducts, furnaces, incinerators, and industrial steel structures exposed to high dry heat. For maximum corrosion protection on blast-cleaned steel not in continuous operation, a primer such as Tuffkote Zinc Silicate is recommended before application.
